This morning we were fishing an edge we used to visit last year and it immediately paid off. We were catching keeper size rockfish while I was using the trolling motor on 10.  We crossed over an area we call ‘the thumb’ and started getting into bigger fish.  My buddy kept a 25″ and I was feeling the pressure to put something in the boat.

We slowly scooted over into about 5 ft of water and a big one smacked my lure up in the air. I kept it going but was frantically jerking me rod tip.. he did it again. Threw it a foot forward.. that fish did that all the way to the boat before finally grabbing it.

Thank goodness it was also a 25″.
